In Loving Memory: Adara Almonte

Comedian Adara Almonte passed away recently.

She produced and hosted the Laugh Force comedy series and was a sweet and talented girl who provided plenty of stage time for the comics in the city. Hers is the show I used for my short video "Performing For Ghosts". There happened to be only two audience members watching by the end of the night, but she went out of her way to let me have a 20 minute set in preparation for a road gig. I only used 5 of those minutes, but I really appreciated her generosity.

I have performed on Adara's show when the place was packed. This girl could network! And she also had a league of faithful friends who would come out and support often.

Adara, you will be missed. You must know that. You were a good person and a stalwart buddy. Thank you for being my friend. You will be remembered. I don't know what else to say. I wish you could have known you were cared for, more than you did. I'm so sorry. I am so terribly sorry. Thank you for you affection and companionship. Rest, Heal, Move on. And call on us if you want or need to. We are here.

This is so sad! She and I only communicated over email but I still feel so sorry - she was a very sweet girl who had a zest for life and had been through so much. I'm trying to spread the word so people know about the services Weds.

God Bless You, Adara! Keep 'em laughin' in the next world!

OMG - She was so sweet, funny and one of the best up and coming comedy producers. Her time did come too early. We know you're making 'em laugh up stairs! You will be missed!

She was a sweet girl who always had a smile on her face and a kind word. I was so impressed by the professionalism and determination she brought to her work. This is very shocking and sad. I wish there'd been more time to get to know her better.

Hi Leah. There is talk of a tribute/service in NYC that may incorporate her comedy contributions. TBA by
