Birthday Wish List

So far this is shaping up to be a nice age.

I've got a great husband and a favorite pizzeria...

a fun coffee shop comedy show and a fun wine bar comedy show...

a four-legged charity case...

and an awesome family.

Who could ask for anything more? ME. I'm saving up for a couple of presents:

If the financial advice I'm getting from my prison penpal B. Madoff pans out, I should be able to score a scooter and a flat screen television this year. Or at least pictures of them to add to my vision board.

Thanks for the sweet birthday wishes I've received on facebook and twitter! It more than makes up for the fact that I don't get to see who shows up to my funeral. I'm lactose intolerant, so treat yourself to an icecream for me.

Famous Faces

Luke and I are featured on Carolyn Castiglia's Strollerderby post about the science of a happy marriage. The photo is from our set of fake engagement photos where we dressed up as other couples about to be married.

Twitter Me This

Gonna be reading hilarious tweets on H. Alan Scott's hot new show, "The Tweet Spot" tonight.

How the show works:
1 - A contestant reads their Tweets. 2 - The audience then votes to ReTweet it (if they liked it), or Unfollow it (if they didn’t like it). 3 - The person with the most ReTweets wins!

There’s also a part of the show called “The Hashtag Dash,” where I spin a wheel and the contestants must shout out as many possibilities for whatever hashtag the wheel lands on.

Things You Need

I notice all the As-Seen-on-TV infomercials are do-it-yourself crap these days. I spent 20 minutes watching people clumsily use their own silk screening kit, wondering if I should finally make that t-shirt collection I always wanted. You can also grow your own tomatoes, grow your own blueberries, and make your own smoothie. These are tools that are completely unnecessary marketed under the guise of "In these tough economic times, we're going back to basics! Like basic laser cutting of foam materials for that scrapbook you need in order to survive."

But if you do get that silk screening kit, make sure you wear your cool new t-shirt to Willifest Kick-off tomorrow!

Tues May 11th at Brooklyn Bowl, 7:30PM

I'm hosting with spitfire Jenna Brister. She drives a scooter. It's gonna be rad.

Census Bureau Then and Now

Betty White was great as a host on SNL this past weekend. I enjoyed one sketch in particular, where Tina Fey was a member of the Census Bureau checking in on a resident played by White.

It reminded me of one of my favorite SNL sketches from days of yore. My buddy Chris Serico says that both were written by Fey. ENJOY!

Do You Like Your Words Scrambled or Sunny Side Up?

Fun with my Scramble game application on my iPhone.

They wouldn't accept "smurf". Smurf is a word! I watched them as a child. They are three apples high. Not to mention all the other words that leaves out--smurfs (plural), smurfun (adj), smurfued (when smurfs receive a curfew)...

You know, brush your toofers. Or Toofer on 30 Rock. Or Teafer two and Toofer tea.

What kind of game accepts a verb (see bottom list of approved words), but not the noun responsible for that verb? I don't have an MLA Handbook, but that seems shady to me.

Wabbler gets approved. Gets 9 whopping points. And I've never heard of that word. I don't even think it's real. Game over.
